District Governor Martin Garcia is pleased to advise that John Mohi (Wellington North Rotary) has accepted nomination by the District Nominating Committee for the position of Governor District 9940 for 2019-2020.  The Nominating Committee was chaired by PDG Bob Smith and consisted of the five most recent PDGs.
John is married to Lane and has been a member of Wellington North Rotary since 1996.  He was President of his Club in 2014-15, is an advisor to our District on Māori protocol and has led our District in powhiri at District conferences and on marae.  John is currently Assistant Governor Wellington 2 (Courtenay Place, Mount Victoria, Port Nicholson, Wellington North). John was Director Services to Maori at the National Library of New Zealand and, in addition to his work experience, has a very impressive range of educational qualifications.

RI Bylaw 14.020.8. (see below) allows for Clubs to challenge the nomination by a date determined by the Governor not more than 14 days after publication of this announcement of the selection for governor-nominee by the governor.  DG Martin has determined that the date for any challenges to be received by him is 24 May 2017.

I am sure you will all join us in congratulating John and wishing him and Lane the very best as he prepares to lead our Rotary District in 2019-20.
