On Wednesday, 25 October, Rotary International is hosting a webinar on managing leads for club leaders in your district. A direct e-mail has been sent to them as well, but any support and encouragement you can offer would be appreciated. So far, 42% of registered attendees say they have never heard of membership leads—so this is a great opportunity for them to learn more! Additionally, we have asked the Club Membership Chair from the Rotary Club of Manly, NSW to speak since they have used the Membership Leads effectively and have experienced growth as a result. Please see below for text that could be shared with Club Leaders:
"Did you know that almost 19,000 visitors to Rotary.org have expressed interest in joining Rotary since July 2016? Rotary staff alerts districts to these prospects through the Membership Leads page on My Rotary, and districts, in turn, assign them to clubs. By asking about joining, these aspiring members are telling us that Rotary offers a unique experience and that they want to learn more. Are we doing everything we can to engage with them and ensure that their experience with Rotary is positive?
Mark your calendars for the webinar Hot, Warm, and Cold Leads: Engaging Your Prospective Members on Wednesday, October 25 at 9:00am (AEST). On the registration page, you can check the webinar’s time for your time zone. During this webinar, there will be a live demo on how club leaders can manage and admit membership leads, share best practices in communicating with prospective members through the Membership Leads platform, and answer questions from attendees. The Rotary Club of Manly in NSW will be featured as a speaker as their club has experienced success in membership growth from utilizing the Membership Leads program.
After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with information on how to join the webinar. All registrants will receive a copy of the slides and a recording of the presentation afterward.
After the webinar, you’ll be able to:
Respond to leads in the way that works best for your club
Check and update the status of a lead online
Work with your district leaders to find interested people who would make good additions to your club
Apply best practices for effectively following up on leads

Thirteen District Grants were approved, unfortunately the amount that we had to provide for grants was less than the amount that was asked for.
One further request for a grant is now being worked on as a Global Grant. Most of you will be aware of the work being done by Rotary Clubs of Masterton South and Inglewood, plus contributions from clubs within District 9940 together with District 9920 including the Rotary Club of Rarotonga. This grant application is in it's final stages and information on this will be available as soon as possible.
Our website has all the details on the grants that have been approved.
